As the last item on the week-long programme for our visitors from The Laski Centre – a school for the blind and partially-sighted in Poland – our guests had some close encounters with the marine creatures which we have found in our fjord, and temporarily keep in sea tanks outside the Biology classroom. There was exploration using touch, and the tasting of sugar kelp – all with loud chatter and an occasional scream! It didn’t seem to matter that our hands were freezing in water that was only 8°c!
