Meeting Place for Diversity

Main Partners:

  • IMDI, The Directorate for Integration
  • Sogn og Fjordane County
  • The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI)

The objective of this project is to

  •  develop a meeting place that contribute towards creating solutions for social and environmental challenges, from local to international level
  • develop a set of activities that promote knowledge, good attitudes and values and makes it possible to unite people across differences
  • develop a set of activities that can contribute towards integration of refugees and immigrants in our county, involving the local community in a way that promotes good attitudes in questions regarding migration
  • contribute to strengthening the regional work for a sustainable development and integration

With the opening of the Dunant and Heyerdahl Buildings, we now have a capacity of nearly 100 beds for visitors on our campus. The project is set up to utilize this capacity in a way that serves the UWC values as well as the needs and interest of our region. Thanks to our co-operations partners, who enable this to happen – to the benefit of all participants.
